This week, we were contacted by Lynette Tatum. She, along with Michael Doise, have created an app called MLWordTips. Did you ever want a plethora of useful tips and tricks for using Microsoft word right there on your phone? We had a delightful conversation with her as she informed us of how she got the idea to develop this app and describes what it offers. Next, we hear from our very own ACB Radio Main Menu Team member, Shannon Reece. She demonstrates the use of an iOS app which she uses to monitor the progress of her daughter in school. It is quite thorough and, well, all I can say is that I'm glad they didn't have this app around when I was in school. Heheheheheheh. Lastly, Randy and I come back and have some conversation to help round out some of the tangents off on which we went in that first interview. Thank you for your interest and enjoy the program!

This week on Main Menu, we invite Mike Calvo to speak with us about what has been happening at Serotek. You'll hear his thoughts on what has been developing with regard to how operating systems provide access to screen readers as well as what changes are coming to Serotek and how they plan to redefine how the user and their screen reader come together. Afterward, Randy and I will talk about our memories of the early days of System Access and, in the process, I slipped and went back a bit further than I realized. We furthermore touch on some ideas we have up our sleeves for future episodes.

On Main Menu this week, we are interviewing Eric Bridges, the newly-appointed Executive Director of ACB. He sheds a lot of great info including his background, his work out of college along with his affiliation with what is now ACBS, and the job opportunity which eventually led to his new position with ACB. You'll also hear about his accomplishments with regards to the 21st Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act, the Pedestrian Safety and Enhancement Act, and Prescription Drug Labeling Act. There is more to his story, but you'll have to listen to find out the finer details. He has a lot going on, so it was a pleasure and honor to have him as our guest. Next, there's a new app about to hit the iOS App Store. Android users, I know how frustrating it may feel to be second on the list, but I assure you this app is coming to Android soon. We speak with Stephanie Cowper of BeSpecular, the company behind this so-named app. Given the competitive field in which this app hopes to captivate, you may feel the story is familiar, but wait, there are some intriguing details that may have your curiosity bubbling with anticipation. Wondering about the name? You'll learn about that, too! creativity with a scientific twist.
